Heil Europe Chosen Again for Reliability

Reading based waste management company Select Environmental Services has added a 19m3 Heil Europe Powerlink RCV to its fleet of 14 waste collection and recycling vehicles.

Heil Europe Chosen Again for Reliability

Select’s commercial waste division operates throughout Berkshire and services many high profile organisations; the company also provides healthcare and hazardous waste services to clients wider a field. Earlier this year Select purchased its first Heil product, a Big Bite REL, mounted on a Mercedes Actros chassis, so when it came to acquiring an additional vehicle the company chose a Heil/Mercedes combination again.

Select has an ambitious expansion program, which is driven by its desire to focus on innovative waste management initiatives. Philip Stone, Managing Director of Select commented “We practice what we preach and therefore the decision to place our order with Heil was based on product performance and overall best value”. The new Powerlink is also fitted with a Sulo dynamic onboard weighing system which incorporates GPS tracking technology, a step that Select see as vital to their future growth.

“Part of our long-term plans include being able to offer our entire client base a ‘pay-by-weight’ option, so this purchase was very important to those plans.

“Back up service is imperative to us and we have been impressed with the support we have received so far” Mr Stone continued. “When choosing a waste management company, our clients focus on quality and reliability and our decision to buy Heil reflects that”.

The newly designed Powerlink hydraulic system offers unique and unparalleled performance; reduced downtime; lower maintenance costs and less risk of environmental pollution.

The Powerlink, manufactured by Heil in Scotland, provides flexibility to any RCV fleet. With its full-cycle compaction mechanism, it produces less friction than conventional channelled compaction systems thus ensuring that a greater force is directed into the load. The reduction of friction increases durability of materials, improving whole life costs.
