Heil Help Grundon Harness the Future
The UK’s largest privately owned waste management company, Grundon Waste Management, has introduced another five new Heil Front End Loaders (FEL) and a Heil Powerlink with bin weighing facility to improve their waste collection and disposal operation.
The new Heil FEL’s and Powerlink are being used for the collection of waste from local authorities as well as industrial and commercial developments.
Founded in 1929 by Stephen Grundon, Grundon Waste Management is a family owned waste management company and is well respected nationally for its professionalism and is acknowledged to be in the vanguard of waste management practice and innovation. Constant appraisal of market trends and a continuing investment in research and development are at the heart of Grundon's successful leadership in the market place.
Grundon has a total fleet of 270 vehicles, eight of which are now Heil Europe refuse collection vehicles.
Mike Skull, Regional Fleet Engineer of Grundon, said
“We are very pleased with our growing Heil fleet, they offer great reliability and yet are adaptable to our needs. The market trend is definitely moving towards waste weighing in the future and these new Heil vehicles mean we are ready to embrace the change”.
The Heil Front End Loader provides its operators with a robust and efficient vehicle that has the ability to lift up to 3630 kilograms, giving it the best possible bin capacity lifting arms. The programmable logic control offers simplified handling, reliable operation and system condition monitoring. In addition the user can get operational information from text display inside the cabin.
Modelled on the industry-standard Big Bite, the Heil Europe Powerlink provides flexibility to any RCV fleet. The full-cycle compaction mechanism produces less friction than conventional channelled compaction systems, ensuring a greater force is directed into the load. The reduction of friction increases durability of materials, improving whole life costs.
