New System ‘Weighs Up’ for Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has this year already taken delivery of nine new Heil Powerlinks which have been supplied by Londonderry Garage who will be servicing the support requirements of the equipment. The new Powerlinks are built on Mercedes Econic chassis and are fitted with Heil’s new integrated new packer cut out system. The council is also due to receive a further four Powerlinks by the end of the year.

New System Weighs Up for Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council

Heil Europe has recently introduced this packer cut out system as an option to refuse collection vehicles and Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are extremely impressed with its capabilities so far.

This new system acts as an interface between the onboard weighing facility supplied with a Mercedes Econic chassis and a Heil refuse body and provides many more features and benefits compared to a typical on-board weighing system. The interface allows overload protection of the vehicles without the need for third party weighing systems. All weighing information is visible on a text display inside the vehicle cab – allowing greater accuracy and a programmable overload protection signal which is of particular benefit to the operator.

The new Powerlinks will join Redcar and Cleveland’s large fleet of refuse collection vehicles and will be used for the collection of commercial and household waste. After sales is provided by Londonderry Garage who provide a first class service.
