PHS Wastech Add Seven New Heils

East Sussex based waste and recycling company PHS Wastetech, who has depots throughout the UK, has added another seven Heil Europe RCV’s to its growing fleet. The latest diverse order includes four Powerlink 16UTL’s on Mercedes Econics, one FEL on a Mann 8x4 chassis and two Big Bite 27 BBC’s on DAF 8x4’s.

This now means that half the company’s fleet are manufactured by Heil Europe – a testament to the versatility of the Heil range. David Hobbs, Transport Manager at PHS Wastetech believes that the specialist abilities of each Heil model help his company perform the many varied tasks now expected in today’s waste management.

“There are so many sides to the business and so many new challenges in the industry that we need our fleet to be reliable and versatile” he commented. “Heil Europe’s vehicles fulfil both of these needs and offer us good financial value and excellent service as well. Being able to utilise the diverse abilities of each model from the same company strengthens our capabilities and gives us the peace of mind that quality will be consistent throughout the fleet”.

Mick Wisdom, Regional Sales Manager for Heil Europe added: “We have a great long-term relationship with PHS Wastetech and are pleased to see them expanding their fleet with our vehicles”.

The Powerlink provides flexibility to any RCV fleet. With its full-cycle compaction mechanism, it produces less friction than conventional channelled compaction systems thus ensuring that a greater force is directed into the load. The reduction of friction increases durability of materials, improving whole life costs. Additionally a newly designed hydraulic system offers unique and unparalleled performance; reduced downtime; lower maintenance costs and less risk of environmental pollution.

The Heil Front End Loader provides its operators with a more robust and efficient vehicle than was ever possible before. It has the ability to lift up to 3630 kilograms, giving it the best possible bin capacity lifting arms. The automatic levelling and dumping of containers reduces the risk of spillage and damage to the containers.

Heil’s Big Bite is considered to be the industry standard in REL design. It offers a refuse carrying capacity of up to 31m³ which, with the large 2.5m³ hopper, facilitates the collection of large refuse items and reduces the collection time for each trip by increasing the volume packed in each cycle. With its programmable logic controls (PLC) the Big Bite offers simplified control, reliable operation and system conditioning monitoring.
