The new Big Bite is the first Rear End Loader which has been supplied by Heil Europe and will be used for the collection of cardboard and paper for recycling.

Carlton Recycling's new Heil Big Bite

Established in 2003, Carlton Recycling is a local, independent company providing a collection service to businesses that produce waste cardboard and paper in Lincolnshire and surrounding areas. Carlton Recycling offers a reliable and cost effective service with a range of collection services available to suit either large or small commercial businesses.

Paul Appleyard, Director of Carlton Recycling commented; "Heil Europe has provided Carlton with a first-class service. We specified the Big Bite with the Comb Bin Lift because of its 31m3 capacity and it has since exceeded our expectations by carrying a massive 9 tonne of paper and cardboard waste material and now enables us to service customers from 240ltr wheelie bins up to 16 cu. yd skips all with one vehicle."

Heil's Big Bite is considered to be the industry standard in REL design. It offers a refuse carrying capacity of up to 31m3, which with the large 2.5m3 hopper, facilitates the collection of large refuse items and reduces the collection time for each trip by increasing the volume packed in each cycle. It can lift bins up to 1100 litres and with its programmable logic controls (PLC) the Big Bite offers simplified control, reliable operation and system conditioning monitoring.

The new Big Bite has been fitted with an on-board weighing system for greater measurability. All weights are recorded allowing customers to monitor the amounts of waste being recycled.

Maintenance on the Big Bite will be carried out in house.

Carlton Recycling is currently in the process of a business expansion programme and has just applied to build a 5000sqm warehouse for a new recycling facility.
